Montgomery Clift leans back mid-laugh, cigarette in hand, caught in an unguarded moment that feels more like a friend's snapshot than a studio still. His charcoal tweed suit is rendered in grainy black and white, while a ribbon of painted smoke curls up and fills the left side of the canvas. Around him, loose layers of powder blue, cream, and buttery yellow are broken up by quick marks in charcoal, red, and violet: the energy of a sketchbook page wrapped around a matinee idol.
Part of the Icons series, a celebration of classic Hollywood legends in mixed media.
